I really enjoyed the sirloin steak I ordered and the cornbread was about the best I’d ever had! The customer service was real good as well. Lynna was prompt and very nice! I’d visit again when I come back to town!
We are traveling across the country on a quick trip out to the West and back. A 12 hour day of driving and we decide to end the drive for the day in Shamrock, TX. We find Big Vern's, go in and find they offer some great cuts of steak. The steaks were more than delicious, they were the highlight of a long day and then some. Eat here!!!
Great place. Kind of expensive but one of the only places in town for lunch or dinner. Great bar with 2 big screen tvs and very modern atmosphere. Skip the wings though. No spice and lots of breading. Would definitely go back.
Really unexpected find in a small town. Everything was very good and the staff friendly. The salads were fresh and tasty and they are generous with the dressing on the side. We were totally surprised and pleased with the fried mushrooms and zucchini. They are not the usual prepacked fare. They were fresh and the batter light and fried to perfection. Never had better. Oh yeah the house merlot is gentle and tasty. Goes well with anything.
Located in quaint Shamrock, Texas, Big Vern' s is sure to please. If you are staying the night, it is right in the center of town. Across and down the street are most of the lodgings. The staff are super friendly and welcoming to travelers. There is a small gift shop and a heart menu. The place is clean and pleasantly quiet and their food wholesome. Informal is the attire and there is a running bar with locals having a beer or serving your particular poison.
